Detail on each category
Crash and diagnostic reports
When the game crashes or hits a serious error, it sends us a technical report so we can reproduce and fix the problem. These reports contain hardware and software details — operating system, CPU and GPU model, memory, graphics driver version, game build number, game settings, and a stack trace describing where the code failed.
Crash reports are tied to a randomly generated installation identifier, not to your name or your Epic account. We use them only to fix the game.
Gameplay analytics
We record aggregate gameplay events to understand how the game is actually played: which chapter you reached, how long a section took, where players die repeatedly, which settings are changed, and session length. This tells us which parts of the descent are too punishing or too quiet.
Analytics events are linked to the same random installation identifier. We do not use them to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share them with data brokers.
Epic Online Services
If you play through the Epic Games Store or sign in to online features, Astral Sever uses Epic Online Services to deliver achievements, leaderboards, cloud saves and friend features. Epic provides us with your Epic Account ID and display name so those features can work.
Epic Games processes this data under its own privacy policy, which governs your Epic account independently of this document. See Epic's Privacy Policy.
Newsletter and wishlist updates
If you enter your email address on this website or in an in-game signup, we use it only to send you development updates and launch news for Astral Sever. We ask for your explicit consent first, every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and we delete your address when you unsubscribe.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect your real name, postal address or date of birth.
- We do not process payments. Purchases are handled entirely by the storefront (Epic Games Store or equivalent), and we never see your card details.
- We do not use advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or third-party ad networks.
- We do not sell or share personal information for behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
- We do not record your microphone, camera, or screen.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes above:
| Provider | Role | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Epic Games, Inc. | Storefront and online services | Epic Account ID, display name |
| Crash reporting and analytics provider | Diagnosing crashes, aggregate gameplay telemetry | Device data, install ID, gameplay events |
| Email delivery provider | Sending newsletter and launch updates | Email address |
We name Epic Games above because its services are integral to how the game runs. Our remaining providers are listed by category. You can request the current list of named providers at any time from contact@everreachlabs.io, and we will update this page when it changes.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to — for example in response to a valid court order — or to protect our rights and the safety of players.
International transfers
Everreach Labs, Inc. is based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where we transfer personal data out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with the UK Addendum where applicable.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights over your personal data:
- Access — ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix data that is wrong.
- Deletion — ask us to erase your data.
- Objection and restriction — object to processing based on legitimate interests, or ask us to pause it.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from email at any time, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew.
To exercise any of these, email contact@everreachlabs.io. We respond within 30 days. We will never charge you or degrade your experience in the game for making a request.
If you are in the EEA or UK and you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in California, you may exercise your CCPA/CPRA rights through the same address above.
Children
Astral Sever is a horror game intended for adult players and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact contact@everreachlabs.io and we will delete it promptly.
Security and retention
We protect data in transit with TLS, restrict internal access to the people who need it, and keep information only as long as the purposes in this policy require — the periods in the table above. When a retention period ends, we delete the data or irreversibly anonymise it.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data and creates a real risk to you, we will notify you and the relevant regulator within the timeframes the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and revise the effective date at the top. For material changes we will give notice in the game or by email before the change takes effect. Previous versions are available on request.
